About the Event

In 2010, Leslie Peterson, a local Mom with 2 kids at Banks Elementary came up with an idea of a 5K/10K race for raising much needed money for technology at Banks Elementary School. The inaugural race in June 2011 was very successful and is now a highly anticipated community event.

The past six events have raised a total of $31,000 for the Banks Elementary technology fund.  Students and teachers have greatly appreciated the purchase of over head projectors(2011), tablets(2012), software updates(2013) and typing software(2014), a special typing software for kindergartners for state testing and additional tablets/cart(2015).  Additional IPads for class rooms(2016).   The purchases have truly enhanced student learning.  With your support we look forward to the 2017 results!

Each year there is a fun theme and prize at stake for the elementary student body. The principal and staff have graciously volunteered to do the following on race day, before the main event, when we hit the following registration goals:

Theme: - Running Wild on the Linear Trail for Kids and Technology

50 Registrants -
100 Registrants -
150 Registrants -
200 Registrants -

Location: Banks High School Track

Come and Enjoy: great raffles, music, a great work out and a good time!
